Established in 1954, Alliance Française de Kampala is Uganda's oldest French language and cultural institution; part of a continent-wide network of 126 African branches. The Kampala centre runs French, Swahili, and Luganda language classes for children, teenagers, and adults, alongside a rich calendar of cultural events: concerts, film screenings, art exhibitions, and conferences. It also offers corporate training, a library, translation services, a recording studio, and event venue hire.
The Challenge
With dozens of classes running each week across multiple levels and a packed cultural events calendar; concerts, exhibitions, screening nights, conferences; the Kampala team was managing an overwhelming number of moving parts through disconnected tools. Room bookings conflicted with events, instructor schedules overlapped, and students sometimes showed up to cancelled or rescheduled classes without notice.
