Design Hub Uganda (Circular Design Hub Kampala) is a creative technology centre in Kampala's Industrial Area that brings together designers, technologists, entrepreneurs, artists, and activists. The Hub runs co-working spaces, quarterly cross-disciplinary creative challenges — inviting collaborators to tackle real social problems — technology workshops in partnership with Kampabits, and community events including exhibitions, movie nights, and conferences. Its community of 150+ entrepreneurs connects with partners like Tunga for job opportunities and international market access.
The Challenge
Running a dynamic creative hub with a co-working space, quarterly innovation challenges, technology workshops, and a full events calendar created coordination strain. Challenge applications arrived through informal channels, member communications were inconsistent, workshop facilitators overlapped, and the team had difficulty tracking outcomes from their quarterly programs to report back to partners like Hivos.
The Solution
Design Hub adopted TaskMate to manage its quarterly challenge cycles end-to-end; from applications and team formation to prototype tracking and showcase events; alongside its ongoing workshop calendar and member programs.
